REPORTED DEVELOPMENT
Glean's October 15 release notes describe new controls for enterprise AI operations. Administrators can opt to protect selected high-sensitivity users from ActAs impersonation, while exported action events can be linked to the specific agent or Assistant workflow that triggered them.
The release also introduces departmental Auto mode policies designed to balance model capability and consumption cost. These policies began a staged rollout on October 15, with general availability scheduled for October 29. The notes also rename two MCP usage-limit tools, requiring affected integrations to update hard-coded calls.
Availability and operational impact vary by configuration. The notes do not establish measurable savings, and they do not imply that every customer uses the renamed integrations.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Enterprise AI purchasing increasingly depends on more than search quality or model accuracy. Identity restrictions, audit trails, compatibility management and cost policies are becoming part of software governance and total operating cost. The release is a product-specific example, not evidence of universal performance.
