IBM distinguishes integration-context intelligence from available Concert operations
REPORTED DEVELOPMENT
IBM described Integration Intelligence Hub as a context layer for enterprise integrations, connecting an Asset Explorer of existing interfaces and dependencies with reusable approved Skills and the DataPower Interact Gateway for identity, permissions, approvals and audit. Its integration example illustrates how an agent could examine a SAP-to-Kafka purchase-order path before acting; it is an architecture description, not a measured customer outcome.
The Hub was presented in technology preview, with an initial SaaS offering planned. IBM Concert, by contrast, was described as available in both SaaS and on-premises configurations for cross-domain optimisation, observability, protection and IT operations. Concert’s further MCP optimisation and cloud functions were scheduled for later release, while Mobile Session Replay remained in private preview.
These distinct product stages and product claims should not be read as independent evidence of deployment performance, security effectiveness or financial return.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Enterprise AI agents need reliable system relationships, authorised actions and operational recovery, but those requirements belong to different technology layers. An integration-context preview and an available IT-operations platform cannot be treated as interchangeable. Buyers must establish which specific controls are deployable, contractually included and demonstrably effective.
MARKET EVIDENCE
SOURCE-LINKED INDICATORSAgent-permission design is developing as a separate public framework from the availability of enterprise integration and operations products.
The operational question is not whether IBM participates in an expanding software market, but which agent actions and enterprise integrations are controlled, observable and recoverable in a generally available configuration.
The NIST publication is proposed guidance rather than product validation. Consolidated software growth does not isolate Concert or Integration Intelligence Hub bookings, deployment counts or financial performance.
