REPORTED DEVELOPMENT
Search announcement: 20 October; infrastructure update: 21 October.
On 20 October, Google Cloud presented Gemini enterprise search on Google Distributed Cloud for environments fully isolated from the internet. Users can query documents, images, recordings and other business content, receive source references and retain conversations between sessions. Enterprise search is in preview.
On 21 October, Google also announced general availability of NVIDIA HGX B300 systems on GDC and Confidential G4 instances in 36 cloud zones. These are different products and infrastructure layers: hardware general availability does not establish search general availability.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Multimodal search, citations and persistent sessions are becoming infrastructure-provider capabilities. Differentiation depends on source precedence, conflicts, versions, decision permissions and evidence integrity; Google's announcements alone do not establish equivalent canonical reconciliation.
