REPORTED DEVELOPMENT

HCLTech's second-quarter FY2027 investor presentation reported USD 219 million in Advanced AI revenue, alongside growth of 28.4% quarter-on-quarter and 78% year-on-year in constant currency.

The amount appears in the company's quarterly performance reporting. Some secondary coverage has characterised the metric differently, making the reporting period important when interpreting the figure.

The presentation also describes new commercial selections involving industrial applications of AI.

A European manufacturer selected HCLTech's VisionX technology for visual quality inspection of packaging variants. Another industrial customer selected agentic digital-thread integration spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and service processes.

The customers were not identified, and contract values, implementation results and realised returns were not disclosed.

WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET

Industrial AI demand is extending beyond general-purpose assistants into product inspection, manufacturing quality and integrated operational processes.

The commercial selections indicate demand for these applications, but they do not establish the financial returns or operational effectiveness of completed deployments.

Manufacturers evaluating similar systems need to distinguish project awards from verified improvements in defects, throughput, labour productivity and implementation costs.
