REPORTED DEVELOPMENT
Tenable announced OPEN for AI on 20 October 2026, connecting security tools from different suppliers through MCP and agentic workflows. Announced integrations include SentinelOne, Corelight, Snyk and BeyondTrust, correlating vulnerability, identity, application-code and security-activity information according to Tenable. These are supplier claims, not independently verified operational results.
Technical documentation says the Tenable Hexa AI MCP server exposes 90 tools but requires Tenable One Foundation or Advanced licensing and authorised API credentials. Using an external AI model transfers data to that provider; Tenable does not guarantee the geographic processing region of the external model. Available permissions may include reading, writing and administration. The functionality is unsupported in Tenable FedRAMP Moderate environments.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Interoperability, agent permissions, data location, responsibility for operations and licence costs require separate evaluation. A functioning MCP integration does not itself establish security, governance or economic returns.
