REPORTED DEVELOPMENT

Coverage of an AlixPartners study of 9,000 US consumers reports 10% starting discovery with AI, rising to 14% among Gen Z and millennials. This does not mean delegating purchases; reluctance towards agent checkout remains. Sixty-eight per cent of consumers earning over $150,000 value innovation, not necessarily use AI.

WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET

Discovery, innovation preferences and willingness to delegate checkout measure different commercial behaviours.

WHAT THE DATA SUGGESTS

Merchants can test whether machine-readable product attributes improve discovery while measuring whether traffic converts to qualified, profitable demand.

INTERPRETATION BOUNDARY

Stated first-discovery channel, adoption of agent checkout, orders and revenue are different variables. A survey cannot demonstrate attributable conversion effects.
