AWS and IskayPet describe Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases for a group with over 330 stores across Spain, Portugal and France and documentation in four languages. During the first two months, reported answer-finding time fell from three to five minutes to approximately seven seconds, around a 95% reduction. Capacity for 100,000 monthly queries is a projection, not verified traffic. These are joint supplier/customer claims, not independent financial ROI.
AWS documentation distinguishes SharePoint-permission filtering from authentication. Managed Knowledge Bases uses application-supplied identity context without independently authenticating it; the application must authenticate users first. Permission propagation may lag, and misconfiguration can produce empty results without explicit errors.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Authentication, authorisation, source retrieval, answer quality, saved operating time and realised economics require separate treatment.
