AWS documentation says creation of new SharePoint, Confluence, Salesforce and Web Crawler connectors in customer-managed Knowledge Bases has been unsupported since 30 September. Existing connectors continue data ingestion and retrieval. AWS directs new implementations towards Bedrock Managed Knowledge Bases.
The two architectures do not necessarily share indexing, permission or multimodal-content capabilities. This is an already-effective September restriction, not a new 25 October announcement.

A vendor's alternative path is not automatically functionally or operationally equivalent to the retiring integration.
