REPORTED DEVELOPMENT
Databricks presented MemCurrent and its Agent Bricks Memory implementation, available in beta. The architecture separates append-only session history from editable derived memory periodically consolidated by automated processes.
In internal Databricks tests covering 114 evaluation cases, successful completion rose from 22.3% without memory to 68.4% with MemCurrent, with 31% fewer tokens and 26% shorter times. These are producer benchmarks, not independent validation or customer economic ROI.
WHY IT MATTERS TO THE MARKET
Persistent memory creates a need to distinguish operating memory from original evidence, document provenance, protected decisions and authoritative facts.
